Maria Francesca Costabile is a professor at the Computer Science Department of the University of Bari, Italy, where she teaches human-computer interaction and other courses for the computer science curriculum. Her current research interests are in human-computer interaction, interaction design, mobile systems, usability engineering, information visualization, visual analytics, end-user development. She has published over 150 papers in scientific journals, books and proceedings of international conferences on the above topics, and edited seven books, published by ACM Press and Springer.
Hegle Sarapuu is an expert in human-centered design, usability and accessibility, having worked in this area for 8 years. She is one of the founders of Trinidad Consulting, Estonian company focusing on usability and accessibility. Hegle is a member of The Usability Professionals’ Association and a lecturer in various Estonian higher education organizations.
Dr. Virpi Roto is a user experience researcher at Aalto University and in the University of Helsinki, Finland. Because her mission is to clarify the notion of user experience and make user experience work more systematic, she has been the driving force behind the All About UX site and the current Wikipedia page on user experience. Her background is in computer science and usability, and she has done a long career in Nokia Research Center. She is active in Human-Computer Interaction conferences with papers, talks, workshops, tutorials, panels and track chair responsibilities. This year, she is the chair of ACM SIGCHI Finland chapter.
Meelis Lang is Head of Software Development at Helmes. He has 19 years of IT sector experience, today leading the way for quality and efficiency in Helmes. He has carried out large international software development projects as well as been part of the software product development teams.
Eliis Väert is Head of Telecom Solutions at Helmes. She is in charge of providing services to international corporations like Tele2, Elisa etc. Eliis has obtained valuable experience of assessing business value of usability also in her own web company. Her studies of e-business and digital marketing in different US universities give her strong background in e-business and the commercial value of UI.
Ilya Shmorgun is a PhD student at Tallinn University Information Society Technologies program. He concluded his Master’s Degree in Interactive Media and Knowledge Environments. Currently holds a Usability Specialist position at the Estonian Information System’s Authority.
